A current ATEX optical-radiation reference

The Industry Insights article explains Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1967. The decision added EN IEC 60079-28:2026 to the ATEX harmonised-standards list from September 4, 2026. Its provision deleting the EN 60079-28:2015 row applies from March 4, 2028.

The guide keeps the European reference distinct from IEC 60079-28:2025, the international IEC publication. It also explains that presumption of conformity is limited to the essential requirements covered by the cited standard or relevant parts. Buyers are directed to compare the exact model, optical function, declaration, assessment basis, standard edition, certificate where applicable and transition record.

A system-level intrinsic safety screen

The Technical Knowledge article defines the common first-screen relationships Uo <= Ui, Io <= Ii, Po <= Pi, Ci plus cable capacitance <= Co, and Li plus cable inductance <= Lo. It then explains why the cable, every connected apparatus contribution and the actual topology remain part of the assessment.

The guide uses the current IEC 60079-25:2020+AMD1:2025 CSV system context and notes that IEC 60079-11:2023 is marked Corrected Version 2026-07 on the official IEC page. It does not turn a passing spreadsheet screen into approval. Mixed capacitance and inductance, multiple sources, group, EPL, temperature, ambient range, Um, isolation, earthing, segregation and certificate conditions still require competent review.

Current MMAIATEX certification status

The public MMAIATEX About page states that ATEX, IECEx and CCC certification work is in progress. MMAIATEX Explosion-proof Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. does not present these guides, a standard reference, an IP rating, a product category or a representative photograph as proof that a particular model or completed assembly is certified.

Buyers should request and verify the exact legal manufacturer, model and suffix, complete marking, current certificate status and scope, schedules, declarations where applicable, instructions and destination requirements before selection or use.
