MMAIATEX New Ex Guides: Three English Resources for Buyers

Last reviewed: August 31, 2026

This announcement concerns educational website content only. It is not a product release, certification announcement, customer project, test report, factory update, sales result, traffic claim or other performance result.

What the MMAIATEX new Ex guides cover

The August 31 update contains exactly three articles. Each guide starts with a direct answer and then identifies the project inputs, controlled records and limitations that still require model-specific review.

New English guide Buyer question Practical use
IEC 60079-0:2026 Standard Update: What Ex Equipment Buyers Should Verify Does Edition 8 automatically invalidate an existing IECEx certificate? Compare the live certificate status, issue, listed standard editions, exact model, schedule and instructions
Ex tb vs Ex tc: How to Read Dust Protection Markings How do Ex tb and Ex tc differ, and what else must match? Check the approved dust area, required EPL, dust group, maximum surface temperature, ambient range, entries and evidence
Explosion-Proof Audible and Visual Alarms: 12 Buyer FAQs Is an Ex marking enough to approve a workplace warning device? Review hazardous-area suitability separately from audibility, visibility, alarm meaning, controls and system requirements

The three public URLs were verified before this Company News article was prepared.

Why the three topics belong in one buyer update

Hazardous-area procurement often fails when related documents are treated as interchangeable. A recently published standard does not, by itself, determine the current status or project acceptance of a specific certificate. An EPL marking does not correct a mismatch in dust group, temperature or ambient range. An Ex certificate for an alarm device does not prove that workers can hear, see or interpret the warning at the intended location.

The new guides address these boundaries from three different stages of a purchasing decision.

Check the exact certificate record

The IEC 60079-0:2026 guide separates the publication of Edition 8 from the status of individual IECEx records. It gives buyers a field-by-field comparison for the legal manufacturer, exact model, certificate status and issue, listed standards, complete marking, conditions and instructions.

Buyers who need a broader evidence workflow can also use the existing IECEx certificate and ATEX document verification guide.

Translate dust markings into project inputs

The Ex tb versus Ex tc guide explains that the two markings are associated with different dust Equipment Protection Levels. Selection still begins with the approved area classification and must include the Group III subdivision, surface-temperature limit, ambient range and complete enclosure and entry configuration.

It links these checks to existing MMAIATEX resources on dust Zones, EPLs, temperature and the difference between IP and Ex protection.

Separate device protection from warning effectiveness

The audible and visual alarm FAQ answers 12 purchasing questions. It distinguishes hazardous-area evidence from the separate human-factors and alarm-system work needed to make a warning perceivable and meaningful in a real workplace.

The article asks buyers to define the alarm purpose, sound and visual requirements, supply, control interface, environment, entries and required documents without inventing a universal sound level, color or coverage distance.

How procurement and engineering teams can use the series

Start with the standard-update guide when a specification refers to IEC 60079-0:2026 or when an offered certificate lists an earlier edition. Use the dust-marking guide when an enquiry includes Ex tb, Ex tc, Db, Dc or a Group III marking. Use the alarm FAQ before finalising a request for a sounder, beacon or combined audible and visual device.

These resources extend the MMAIATEX English buyer education series. They are designed to help a responsible buyer prepare clearer questions and evidence requests. They do not select equipment, approve an installation or allocate legal and contractual responsibility.

Evidence boundaries remain unchanged

A guide, product photograph, category page, sample marking or similar enclosure cannot establish conformity or suitability for an exact model. The responsible team should obtain current evidence for the legal manufacturer, model, suffix, options and configuration and compare it with the project requirements.

Where applicable, review the controlled certificate record, complete schedule, conditions, declaration, instructions, approved drawings, installation requirements and destination-country rules. Any unresolved mismatch should be referred to the responsible engineer, certification body or authority as appropriate.

Current MMAIATEX certification status

The public MMAIATEX About page states that ATEX, IECEx and CCC certification work is in progress. The publication of these guides does not establish completed ATEX, IECEx or CCC certification for any displayed product, model, category or configuration.

Before specification or purchase, request the current model-specific document set and independently verify its holder, status, issue, scope, marking, conditions and applicable standard editions through the relevant official source and project process.

Safety disclaimer

These articles provide general educational information. They are not certificates, declarations of conformity, legal opinions, area-classification studies, alarm-system designs, installation instructions or engineering approvals.

Hazardous-area classification, product selection, installation, inspection, operation, maintenance and modification must be controlled by competent personnel using site-specific data, applicable law and standards, and the exact current product documentation.

Request model-specific information

Send MMAIATEX the destination, conformity route, approved Zone, required EPL or ATEX category, gas or dust group, temperature and ambient requirements, electrical function, entry details and required documents. The team can identify potentially relevant product information for the responsible buyer or engineer to assess.
